Let’s face it, back acne (usually nicknamed “bacne”) can be a real pain in the, well, back. We spend so much time focusing on our faces, but every once in a while remember those pesky breakouts below the shoulder blades, not only can they be itchy and painful, but they can also ruin a beautiful outfit that just so happens to display the beautiful acne. So I am going to try to recommend the best products that can help with your and reveal smooth, confident skin – because you deserve to rock your back with pride.
01 Panoxyl antimicrobial acne wash
The panoxyl formula contains 4% benzoyl peroxide which is good because the benzoyl peroxide is an ace at killing acne-causing bacteria which is usually the reason behind acne breakouts. The benzoyl works by breaking down the bacteria and on top of that reduces excess oil production which is also something else that can contribute to acne. This product is obviously also not just limited to the back but can also help your face or other parts of your body.
02 CeraVe salicylic acid acne treatment
We obviously can’t have this list without including something from CeraVe. This product is extra special today because it helps treat acne with salicylic acid. But remember, although the salicylic is good for treating acne, its effectivness can change depending on the type of acne you have and other factors. For example, it is mostly effective for black heads and whiteheads, but not as effective for inflammatory acne like papules and pustules. But on the other side if it sounds good for you then I can add that the salicylic acid helps prevent future breakouts and is anti-inflammatory which means that it reducec redness and swelling that usually comes with acne.
03 Nécessaire the body wash, oil cleanser
The Nécessaire body wash exfoliates well and is a great gentle cleanser, it’s formula is made is an oil-in-gel cleanser which is suitable for most skins (including sensitive skin) which is important for “bacne” because the skin on you back is more delicate than your face. This product also has niacinamide which has anti-inflammatory properties that helps reduce redness and swelling associated with acne. The product also mentions that it is non-comedogenic which in short means that it’s unlikey to clog pores which is an important detail for acne-prone skin.
Using one or more of these products is obviously going to be helpful for your bacne journey, but there are stuff that you should you be aware of. For example if you are sweating after a hot day or a workout, shower directly. Try to wash your towels and bedsheets weekly if possible, and during shower always make sure to wash your body (or specfically the back area) right after washing out your conditioner from your hair since conditioner could clog pores on your back and if you don’t thouroughly rinse and wash off then the residue on your back clog pores.
